Toy Drive to benefit IHAD

Dear LycéeLA Community,

Each year, one of our favorite events in Middle School is to coordinate the Toy Drive for the elementary, middle and high school, which benefits the "I Have A Dream Foundation" (IHAD) and their students (aka Dreamers).

IHAD is a unique program that helps underprivileged children by providing a long-term program of after-school, academic enhancement and summer activities. When the Foundation has the necessary funds, they select an entire class of first graders in an under-resourced local neighborhood and follow them for 10 years - from 1st grade through high school and into college.

We, the Student Council and the LycéeLA Community, have been following two groups of students in recent years: one group of Dreamers is now in 10-11th grade (P19-Boyle Heights), and another group is in 5-6th grade (P20-Inglewood).

We have been meeting them each year since they were in 1st grade. During the pandemic, we continued supporting them with our Virtual drive, but we are excited to resume our in-person visit this year.

Please join our Toy Drive (accepting actual toy donations – Wish List below) and Virtual Drive to sponsor the Spring College tour to Nothern California for the Boyle Heights Dreamers (P19).

We want to ensure that we continue to put a smile on the faces of the Dreamers, whatever their age!

Please help us spread Holiday Cheer and bring a smile to those less fortunate.
