Taos Immigrant Allies

Donation protected
Daily, we are hearing from our neighbors that are undocumented that they are unable to pay their bills, can't keep their cars going, can't keep their pantries full enough to make a meal. Yesterday, someone we are helping lost his home and told us that he is living in the mountains.

Undocumented immigrants in Taos are still having a very difficult time. They are not getting  unemployment benefits, stimulus checks, food stamps, WIC or any of the benefits that our citizens are getting during this crisis. They mainly work in the hospitality businesses here, cleaning hotel rooms, cooking and waiting tables in restaurants, and even when they are called back to work, their hours are decreased, and they're not getting the tips they used to because volume is down.
We have been gifting people grocery cards, and subsidies to help with their utilities and rent, and have realized that many people are at risk of eviction because they are several months behind in their rent. We are committed to helping our neighbors get through this dire time, and with their families intact, fed and healthy. We appreciate your help, and more importantly, our neighbors who are undocumented appreciate your help so much!

We are helping over 80 families now, and hope to continue to do so until the need is no longer with us. And we are able to do this because of all the generous people  that have donated and continue to do so. We are ever grateful for your continued support!
