The Dunn Runners - Friends of Nevin running for the War Amps
Over Christmas and New Years, our dear friend and co-worker, Nevin Dunn, had to be taken into intensive care while in Florida, after contracting Streptococcal Toxic Shock. He battled the sickness bravely and, after several months in the US, we are happy to report that he is recovering from his ordeal back at his Toronto home. Unfortunately, one of the results of the illness was the need to amputate both of his legs. He is coping with the adjustments to his life with his typical good humor and positive spirit. All of his friends in the Development and Construction industry have had him in our thoughts and prayers every day.
In recognition of Nevin’s bravery, his friends from work wanted to do something to show him how much we are thinking about him. As such, we will be running for charity in the Sporting Life 10K run on Mothers Day (May 12th). Showing his usual selflessness, Nevin’s charity of choice is the CHAMPs programs, which is the Child Amputee program of the War Amps of Canada. CHAMP serves children in Canada (under 18) who are born without a limb or have lost a limb due to an accident or medical causes. Would would love nothing better than to make a significant donation in Nevin’s name.
We are hoping that you can see your way clear to making a donation. Any support would be gratefully received.
