The Food Chain's Winter Food Drive

We need your help to keep vulnerable people and their families safe and fed during this difficult winter and Christmas season.

The Food Chain does vital work providing nutritious meals to people living with HIV and their families at times of crisis. Referred to us by the NHS but with no additional government funding provided, they are in desperate need of our help in order to survive.

Demand for our services doubled during the pandemic as vulnerable individuals found themselves out in the cold when their usual support networks evaporated. It’s only thanks to the generosity of the public that we have been able to step up and provide our often life-saving work.

We are now looking to raise £5,000 to ensure the people we support can afford to live and eat over Christmas, at a time when the costs of energy and food are rising fast and pushing many into extreme hardship.

Thanks to your generosity, during 2021 we have been able to help 512 people living with HIV, alongside their 340 dependents, including 221 children aged under 16.

Some 3,172 food deliveries were organised, which is equivalent to 133,000 meals.

We assure you that every penny you pledge will go towards providing nutritious meals to vulnerable people and their families, and supported individuals are given tailor-made food packages that meet their specific nutritional needs.

Your £10 donation can provide seven meals for one person, while at our lunch service £20 can provide groceries for 15 meals. £50 can provide 25 meals plus infant formula milk for a baby in the family.
