They Saved the Cat! Help Meghan, Needle & Nadia

Donation protected

Well known in Stowe by locals and visitors alike Meghan Lang and Needle (Doug) Proulx lost their home last night to a chimney fire.  Both Waterbury and Stowe's fire departments were on the scene, and were able to save some of the structure, and, most importantly, their beloved cat Nadia.  Sadly, the house is damaged too badly to be occupied, and with the combined smoke and water damage may be well beyond repair.  It is going to be a long haul for the three of them as they come to terms with the loss of their home, possessions and family memorabilia.

Meghan is a force of light and optimism at Pinnacle Ski and Sports and Evergreen Gardens.  She's the master in Pinnacle's clothing and accessories department, cheerfully making sure everyone goes out in clothes that fit and flatter.   And as gardener of extraordinary energy and talent during the summer, she is the manager of the perennial yard at Evergreen Gardens.  It is her passion and expertise making Stowe area gardens beautiful, with plants you’ve forgotten you even put in the ground popping up every spring to bloom again, year after year.

Needle has been a steady presence at Pinnacle for over 30 years, almost since its inception, helping to build the business, often literally, with hammer and nails, into what it is today.

We're asking the Stowe community to help these two people (and the cat!)  who are so much a part of Stowe.  You know them, you love them, and they badly need your help right now.

Please reach out to them with a note and what aid you can as they work to find a place to live and rebuild their lives.
