Trikes for Ukraine
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Dave. I am 58 and live with Cerebral Palsy.
Background.
On five occasions this year, I have had the privilege of driving my van as a volunteer, loaded with humanitarian aid to the Polish/Ukraine Border area. Because of its seating flexibility, I could return to the UK with Refugee families - all of which had at least one disabled person. On three occasions, this included a family dog.
Support so far has been excellent and made easier with help from family and friends, particularly Vince, my Co-driver on trips 1 to 3.
I am dedicating my next trip to orphaned disabled children, and young adults presently homed at locations in Ukraine and Poland.
I aim to assemble a load of items to help occupy and stimulate. My focus is on mobility; trikes are my target.
However, anything from a small wooden puzzle to a fully immersive sensory room would be appreciated.
Using established and reliable contacts in UK, Poland and Ukraine, I ensure everything I take is delivered to orphanages and NOT 'dumped' in massive warehouses.
Any donations will go directly towards buying and repairing trikes, when necessary, along with fuel, channel crossings and road tolls.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.
Please do not hesitate to contact me, should you like more information.
Dave.
