TWO BOYS BREW Hyrox Dublin 2024 Race for India Smyth

Since opening the doors to TWO BOYS BREW nearly 8 years ago, Kate and Aonghus have become two of our most beloved visitors to the cafe. And over the years we've loved seeing their family grow, from just the two of them - now to five. In December 2022, their then-one-year-old India was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma. Since then India, now 3 years old has received a lot of gruelling but lifesaving treatment here in Ireland.

India has endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy, surgery to remove a tumor and a kidney, a stem cell transplant followed by further chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy. Along the way she has suffered significant setbacks but her strength has given her family hope in the toughest of times.

Unfortunately, with this type of cancer, the chances of it reappearing are extremely high which no parent wants to think about.

Signing up to the Hyrox Dublin 2024 race in November, we thought it would be fantastic motivation to align ourselves with Indias family who are currently fundraising for a life changing trip to New York, where India will be able to access a clinical trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre. This trial will give India the highest chance at preventing the cancer from re-occurring, greatly improving her chance of survival.

This trial will also help many more children in the future who will receive the devastating diagnosis of neuroblastoma cancer.
