Valentine's Day Basket Brigade
Donation protected
Donate Now. Please we want women and children, no matter how desperate their situation, to know that someone cares and that there is hope. The Basket Brigade takes your donations creates gift baskets for homeless woman and children
The Valentine's Day Basket Brigade is a local volunteer organization that for over 10 years delivers hundreds of Valentine's Day baskets to homeless women, children, and needy in the Boston area. The baskets have desperately needed items such as toiletries, socks, mittens, ect and toys, and some candy for the children. Each basket is filled with handwritten cards of love and encouragement. Please donate and or do this on a smaller scale is your own area. I will walk you through each step, which is actually very easy. Start small and see the love grow. With just your family or a few friends, you can make a huge impact call [phone redacted] or email [email redacted] and I can explain. We are looking for 2 types of support- cash donations and volunteers to do this in their own area.
Founder Toby Fisher says, " We want woman and children, no matter how desperate their situation, to know that someone cares and that there is hope." Many of the recipients' are alone, victims of domestic violence, affected poverty, and are simply forgotten. This year, Granada House, a local Brighton residential program helping homeless people find a safe, stable environment so they can get back on their feet, will be receiving Valentines Baskets of all their residents and their children. Deb Larson, the Executive Director, says " these baskets are truly a blessing for our residents and will help them regain the confidence they need. These baskets make a HUGE impact on an overlooked group."
Last year, a total of over 400 baskets were given out in Boston on Valentine's day. Other organizations to receive baskets are St Mary's House in Dorchester, EMPath in Brighton, Hildebrand Shelters in Boston, and The Women's Table Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, who all serve homeless women and children within Boston. This year, we are also looking to bringing this to at least 4 other states other countries and will walk through how to do it in your area.
