Velasquez family Surfside tragedy relief

UPDATE: We want to share our immense gratitude for the overwhelming support, prayers and generosity of family, friends, and well-wishers. We are clinging to hope, despite what feels like insurmountable odds, and find some comfort in knowing that God has Theresa, Angela and Julio in His embrace until we find them. 

We wish to reiterate that if we do not need the financial support, we will either return this monetary support (if possible) or pay it forward to those who might need it in the aftermath of this tragedy, or to victims of similar tragedies (such as those in Beirut — we welcome other ideas).

Hi family and friends. I’m in need of your help for my extended family, David Velasquez, whose parents Julio and Angela Velasquez and his sister Theresa Velasquez (that are family to me and mine) are victims missing in the Surfside building collapse. David, his wife and toddler and three other family members flew down last night and they are in need of a place to stay for 6 people. They are currently in a small space. If anyone would like to be of help or knows directly of a place for the six of them as close to the site as possible please reach out to me directly. 

I discussed with them that I would like to set up a gofundme page. David and his wife are fortunate to not anticipate needing financial assistance at this moment, but are cognizant that this might change. Any donations would be temporary in assisting them and anything above what they need, they would like to ultimately share with first responders and any other families affected by this tragedy.

Please keep them in your prayers  as they figure out how to navigate through all this hardship and they are eternally grateful for all the outpouring of love and help that so many are offering and would like to offer.
