Help a Local Veteran Find Stable Housing — Support Josh, Loki & Rascal
My name is Travis, and I lead a small nonprofit in Central Ohio called Veteran Home Guardians. We support veterans who are isolated, struggling, or in transition by helping them regain stability and purpose through work and community support.
This fundraiser is for Josh, an Army Veteran and former medic — and his two loyal companions, Loki (his dog) and Rascal (his cat).
Josh’s Situation
When we met Josh this past August, he was:
• Living in an unheated sawmill
• Without transportation
• Unable to consistently access food or job opportunities
• At risk of full homelessness
Despite that, he reached out not asking for charity — but asking if there was any work he could do to help others.
How Josh Has Been Helping Veterans
Josh is highly skilled in tree work and property safety. Immediately, he began clearing dangerous trees for senior veterans in our area — making their homes safer at no cost to them.
He has continued serving his fellow veterans even when he had almost nothing himself.
What We’ve Accomplished Together So Far
Over the past three months, with community help:
• We provided temporary housing for Josh, Loki & Rascal in our home
• We secured a reliable work truck at a local auction, allowing him to operate independently
• Josh is now completing paid jobs locally, rebuilding his financial footing
He is putting in the work every single day.
What’s Next — A Home of His Own
The final major step toward long-term stability is safe, pet-friendly housing for Josh, Loki, and Rascal.
That’s where you can help.

What Your Contribution Supports
Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
• First month’s rent & security deposit
• Basic furnishings and utilities
• Emergency work-truck repairs if needed
• Food and veterinary needs during transition
No bureaucracy. No waste.
Just direct support to a veteran who is doing everything right to rebuild his life.
⸻
Why This Matters
Josh did his part serving this country.
Now, he continues serving veterans in our own community.
He just needs a fair shot at a stable foundation.
With a little help now, Josh won’t need long-term support —
he’ll stand on his own and keep paying it forward.
