Voyager Craft Coffee Helping our Community

Donation protected
UPDATE 1- April 17

We are absolutely overwhelmed with the amount of support we have garnered from our community, and want to keep going!  We've decided to increase our goal to $15,000.

Since we have started this campaign, we have had requests from numerous hospitals, nursing homes, and first responders for coffee and pastries.  We are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to help even more people, and with this extra $5,000 we will be able to do an extra 50 coffees and pastries per day for our frontline workers!  Thank you again for your overwhelming support. We are so incredibly proud of our community for coming together to bring light in these dark times.  We love you guys!

OUR PLAN

With every $10,000 raised, we will provide the following for 30 days:

- 100 coffees and 100 pastries EVERY.SINGLE.DAY (we start Monday April 13) for healthcare and frontline workers in their impossible fight on our behalf
- 100+ hours of staffing every week for our team at the new Alameda location

Voyager's new store (our 3rd location @ 2221 The Alameda, Santa Clara) will serve as our base of operations for this campaign. While it wasn't our intention to open our doors at The Alameda in this manner, the reality is that our team and our community both need help. The folks doing the cooking, brewing, and delivering will be our very own Voyager employees. This campaign will provide much needed wages and continued health insurance coverage for our team, as well as sustenance to healthcare workers in the County who are already being pushed to their limits.

CONTEXT:

It’s been a little over three weeks since we’ve heeded Santa Clara County’s order to shelter-in-place, and in that time we’ve watched our collective world turn upside down. While our sense of normalcy, comfort, and safety has been challenged more than it’s ever been before, we’ve tried to use this time to not just adapt, but prevail. This is easier said than done.

As a business, we’ve taken a huge hit. Our downtown San Jose store has yet to reopen its doors, the debut of our brand new Alameda location was put off, and our bustling Stevens Creek store, which has experienced an obvious slowdown, is now tasked with keeping three stores afloat, and around 35 workers employed and insured.

As members of the larger Santa Clara County community, which has been hit the hardest by COVID-19, we are scrambling to find ways to ensure the safety of not just our own coffee community, but those who are fighting on the front lines as well.

We are firmly committed to making sure the lasting narrative of these troubled times is our collective humanity and not our isolation.
