2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, and this holiday season will be especially challenging. Ordinarily, we would be finalizing the details for our annual Toy Drive benefiting Vista del Camino, however due to restrictions we aren’t able to host our favorite event this year.
That got us thinking…here at the Coach House we are passionate about our community and we love to give back whenever and however we can. So the question was how to help if we aren’t able to host the Toy Drive? We reached out to Vista del Camino to find out the best way to help them this year and we learned that one of the biggest challenges their families are facing this year is with rent and utility payments. Given that the Coach House is well known for our Christmas lights, it was a no-brainer for us. Let’s help Vista del Camino’s families “Keep The Lights On”!
Vista del Camino provides a variety of services to Scottsdale residents to prevent homelessness, meet the basic needs of individuals and families in crisis, relieve economic and emotional stress and assist individuals to maintain self-sufficiency.
This year, Vista del Camino has seen a 25% increase in families requesting assistance. They currently have 300 families enrolled in their program and are interviewing more every day.
Last year, the Coach House was able to raise almost $10,000 and we filled a U-Haul with toys. We accomplished that in one weekend. We know that this year is different, but surely we can do that again in 25 days!
