Holiday Giving 2021

Project White Butterfly is excited to announce our THIRD ANNUAL drive to raise money to brighten the holidays for men and women in treatment and sober living this holiday season, and help those in recovery from addiction throughout the year ahead!

We take time to reflect on the fact that over 93,000 families who lost a person to addiction in 2020 are celebrating the holidays this year without someone very special. Additionally, we know that only about 4% of people who need treatment for substance use disorder actually receive it. These are just two of the reasons Project White Butterfly chooses to celebrate and support people who are in treatment, working to change their lives, this time of year. We celebrate them having taken the necessary first steps into recovery and encourage them to continue on this path because we know the grim alternatives.

Funds raised from generous donors for Holiday Giving 2021 will be used to purchase food and gifts for approximately 150 people in treatment during the holidays this year. We are planning to bring several sober houses and residential treatment facilities together for a wonderful evening of food, fun, and fellowship. Project White Butterfly wants to remind these individuals of the support that exists in recovery, encourage them to to continue moving forward, and to share our love through a night of celebration and fun!

Additional funds raised will be used for costs associated with the work of carrying out our mission to

meet people wherever they are in their recovery journey by sharing messages of hope, to provide a sense of community, and to serve as a resource navigator, offering linkage to recovery services.

We sincerely thank each and every person who contributes to our work! This year alone, Project White Butterfly has distributed over 1,800 boxes of Narcan and we know that at least five lives were saved with Narcan provided by our organization. In addition, we were able to spread over 20,000 Project White Butterfly cards across Cuyahoga County and over 2,500 cards across the United States. We assisted 91 individuals with linkage to services. We provided weekly community outreach in neighborhoods across Cuyahoga County. Finally, we were able to connect with people throughout Cuyahoga County to educate them about substance use disorder, provide them with resources, and reduce stigma about addiction.

This year has been full of growth - in our organization, in our community, and in the lives of the people we have worked with. We are grateful to be of service and we look forward to the continued work made possible by your donations!
