May 9, 2016

I was headed to the store with my two children to get groceries, I passed through an intersection when I heard two cars crash into one another. I pulled over to see what had happened and realized nobody was stopping to help. Without hesitation, I stopped to make sure everyone was okay. As I parked, a man exited one of the vehicles and began sprinting towards us. Due to his urgency and the possibilities of someone being injured, I opened my door just enough to ask if everyone was ok. It was then he was holding me at gunpoint and demanding me to get out of the vehicle with my kids watching helplessly from their car seats. Next thing I knew , I was forcefully removed from my vehicle and looking up at him. Seated in the drivers seat. As I tried to remove him, he floored the gas pedal, and I grasped whatever I could get my hands on. Dragging me for several yards, increasing speed, I had lost my grasp as my arm broke. Watching my kids drive away, I dropped screaming for help in the middle of the intersection as cars continued to pass. I was soon in an ambulance and headed to the hospital. Once I arrived I was informed that by the grace of God, my babies physically unharmed  and found safe in the abandoned car.

I was relieved, but in a lot of pain from the road rash and strained muscles all down my spine. I also found out I broke my arm in 3 places and tore several ligaments. Thankfully I had no serious injuries and my Two children were alive and physically unharmed! ALIVE AND PHYSICALLY UNHARMED!! It was no doubt a miracle and a blessing. But now living with the aftermath, trying to get our lives back on track, we have been dealing with the long term effects. Physically, emotionally and financially. Due to the fact that the vehicle I was using was apart of the murder investigation, I am without a vehicle and unable to maintain the normal lifestyle we were once living. Being the mother that I am, it's not easy to admit that everyday I struggle to provide for my children, sometimes in the most basic ways. With added appointments for counseling and doctor visits it has made things even more difficult. If that isn't enough, I have also been removed from my place of residency due to the incident. All of this and being unable to maintain a job to provide for my kids is one of the hardest things I've had to deal with but we are walking by faith and not by sight. This has been such a traumatic experience for us and I'm not one to seek help but I'm left with very few options.

Thank you for taking time to read this and even if you are unable to give, I hope you read this and see what God is truly capable of.
God bless.
