Rescue Horses & Equine Therapy Fund
Donation protected
On January 10, 2014 the most magnificent 17 year old Arabian mare, Felici, passed on to horse heaven and received her angel wings.
Felici means "happiness" in Italian and this is exactly what she provided to everyone she met. All Felici knew was how to be kind, considerate, and generous to all of her caretakers and friends.
To honor this powerful and beautiful horse, we have decided to create a "Felici Fund" to continue her legacy of providing happiness. Here you have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of horses and humans that need help.
Helping Humans:
Felici lived at Connemara Ranch where she loved to be involved with equine therapy, helping recovering drug and alcohol addicts to heal using exercises with horses. In order to serve more of the Los Angeles community, we want to offer scholarships to non-profit groups that can't afford equine therapy but would benefit from the service (i.e. recovering addicts, PTSD veterans and at-risk/bullied youth).
Helping Horses:
We have a large ranch and we have space for rescued horses that have been abandoned or abused. Often these horses are in risk of being put down and together we will save their lives and they will become equine therapy horses. We need help covering their care for at least a year to be able to save them.
Your financial donation not only honors Felici and continues her happiness legacy but it helps many animal and human lives as well. Your money goes directly to 1) scholarships for equine therapy and 2) resources to rescue horses.
30-100% of your donation is also tax-deductible since Connemara Ranch operates out of Shalom Institute which is a 501(c)3. We can provide you a letter for tax purposes for any donation over $100. Please specifiy if you want your donation to go towards helping horses or humans.
Thank you in advance for creating a ripple effect of healing.
In pure gratitude,
Katie Neligan (The lucky girl who got to lease/ride Felici. She was (and still is) my best friend, spiritual teacher, and the love of my life.) - Equine Coach
Talley Hutcherson (Ranch owner and Felici's creative caretaker who provided medical treatment and met Felici's physical health needs.) - Equine Therapist
