Fire Sprinklers for Senior Community

Flushing House is looking to implement our most important community upgrade yet and we need your help to accomplish our goal.
As you may know, Flushing House is an independent living community where over 300 residents call home. Flushing House has served over 10,000 older adults since it began in 1974. Flushing House offers its members a unique independent living experience by providing private apartments with around the clock security, 3 home cooked meals a day, daily activities and supportive services. As New York State’s largest not-for-profit, Independent Living retirement residence, our proud mission is: “To provide a safe, enjoyable and affordable retirement experience for our residents.
Flushing House is a 12 story apartment building located in downtown Flushing, Queens. We are always improving and upgrading our community to provide the best possible home for our residents. Finally, we have met our biggest match: overhead sprinklers. To install sprinklers in each of our apartments, we are looking at a cost of $1.6 million dollars, a task too tall to take on alone. Each $5,000 donated can outfit an existing apartment with a state-of-the-art sprinkler head to ensure the safety of our residents in case of a fire.
