"They Even Stole Her Dress...."

Donation protected
Jesse, Erin and Brian attended the 2014 San Diego Music Awards on Monday evening, October 6 at Humphrey's By The Bay. Jesse and Brian are both San Diego musicians, former SDMA winners and were both nominees this year as well.  All three were having a good time, until they stopped by a friend's hotel room on their way out.  They decided to  jump in the pool for a quick dip to end the night on a good note. It was early, not long after ten o'clock. The pool was about fifty yards away from the patio of the hotel room there at Humphrey's.  They could see the room from the pool.  They were in the pool for about 15 minutes, and came back to the hotel room to find that all of their stuff had been stolen. The thieves stole Erin's purse and everything in it: car keys, house keys, iPhone, wallet, ID and credit cards, make-up, jewelry, sunglasses....everything. They also stole her dress, and one shoe. Yes, they actually stole her damn dress and one shoe. She went home that night wrapped in a towel, wearing Jesse's suit jacket. The thieves also stole Jesse's iPhone,  his watch, prescription eyeglasses, car keys, house keys and Brian's iPhone. Total cost to replace the stolen property plus expenses of locksmiths and such is well over $2000.

The police were called to the scene but it is doubtful any arrests will be made, or that the stolen property will ever be recovered.  The extent of the damage the thieves brought to their lives has been far reaching, especially for Jesse and Erin. There is no insurance to cover any of the lost property, no help available from Humphrey's, and no idea how to go about replacing what was stolen.  All three have been left feeling violated, angry, frustrated and upset.

When news of the incident spread the following morning, many people responded with words of kindness and encouragement, and also suggestions to "set up a link so we can donate to you guys, there is more love in the world than hate."

So Jesse, Erin and Brian have done just that.  There are no expectations; only feelings of gratitude and intense appreciation for the love and support friends and family have shown following the robbery.  Thank you for helping us turn this into something positive, whether it be with words or otherwise. It all helps, and we are grateful.
