First off, Dawn and I would like to say Thank You, for taking the time to read our story.
Dawn was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer in 2012. She was operated on to remove a tumor from her colon. The doctors said everything was removed and the cancer was gone. Unfortunately, 6 months later the cancer came back and this time it was stage 4 Metastatic colon cancer and it moved into her stomach. We had to opt for Chemotherapy at the time. For 9 1/2 months we would go sit in the chemo room all day while Dawn did the treatment, and then they would send her home with a pump and a bag full of more chemo, which would pump more medicine into her body for another 48 hours. There were tons of side effects. She would just start to feel better 2-3 days before her next treatment, and back for more treatment we would go. After 9 1/2 months, the cancer dropped 40% and stabalized. We decided to put it in Gods hands and stop doing Chemo. Dawn was able to go back to work with her employer on a 6 month contract, and life was great!! Well except for one thing, one of the trial drugs caused Dawn to swell up. We had to go every 10 days or so and they would stick this long needle in her belly and drain the fluid. Every time, they would remove 6-10lbs of fluid from her stomach. In August 2013 we were told they found a tumor on her ovary. To be safe we had a historectomy. That was really hard, I felt so helpless. She lost 70lbs, which was all of the fluids from the trial drug. She was so sick. She bounced back, and things were starting to look good again. We would see the Dr. Every 2 months for scans to see how the cancer was doing. August 11, 2014 we go for scans and the Drs. Gave us the news, "There is nothing else we can do for you". They tried to convince us to go to Hospice, but thats not happening!! We are not quiters, and we WILL BEAT this.
We had to put all of our belongings into storage, and left for Colorado for a holistic treatment. The treatment is very expensive, and insurance will NOT pay for it. So we have relied on an AMAZING friend, and what little money we have. After 2 months of doing what we could afford of this treatment, her scans showed no growth!! So I know God doesn't want her to go.
If you are able to help financially, I can't express how much it means. You would be helping us save my wife's life. If not, please keep us in your prayers, everything helps. Once again, we Thank you for taking the time to re
