Meet The Children’s Attention Home—a nonprofit in Rock Hill, SC that provides emergency shelter for abandoned, abused, and neglected children. They serve up to 200 children each year with around the clock professional staff and multiple programs to meet the individual needs of each child. Since the doors opened in 1970, over 7,000 children in the state of South Carolina have been helped.
Like Children’s Attention Home, we believe all children deserve a safe and loving home with the opportunity to grow, learn, and reach their full potential as members of our community, which is why we’re stepping up to help!
The kids at the home are in need of an outdoor pavilion for social activities, exercise, and entertainment. The money raised during this campaign will go directly towards that pavilion. The facility itself will be a 16' X 30' structure that will be wired for lighting, ceiling fans and audio/video capabilities. The pavilion will have an open vaulted ceiling and will be screened. Children will be able to utilize exercise equipment, some of which will be permanently attached and some portable. Picnic tables and other seating as well as a movie screen will make the pavilion a facility that can be used for socialization and entertainment as well. Inclement weather and flying insects can prevent the children from being able to take advantage of the outdoors, so the pavilion will be a facility that can be used in all weather and engage the children in activities outdoors.
