On July 16, 2014 our family celebrated my sons 16th birthday. A week later he started having headaches, and we thought it was due to the hot weather. Days passed and he kept having these headaches. On August 9th, 2014 we took him to the Queen of the Valley hospital in Napa, California. We were devastated when the doctor brought us the news. The situation was far worse than our wildest imaginations. The MRI results showed a brain tumor and our sweet boy would be immediately transferred to UCSF. A second MRI at UCSF would confirm the tumor and require immediate brain surgery. Our dear Mark Anthony has a cancerous tumor called Medulloblastoma. His surgery was August 12th, 2014. After surgery, he was given a month of recovery and he is now undergoing radiation Monday through Friday at Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital at Stanford. The doctors will soon give him a break from radiation and then he will begin chemotherapy for five months. Then, he will be on long-term oral chemotherapy treatments. We are praying.
