Hi There! I'm Priscilla Loomis (formerly Frederick), 2016 Olympic Games Competitor, currently in training for the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan !!!
I am a Track & Field athlete representing the Country of Antigua & Barbuda but live in Wildwood, NJ, with my incredible husband, Ken Loomis. I attended Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, NJ, where I was able to fall in love with Track & Field, receive a well-rounded education and grow in my Catholic faith.
I went on to receive a full scholarship from D1 University, St. John's (NYC) and completed one year of graduate work toward my MBA. I had the opportunity to compete as a Track & Field student - athlete for five exciting and fulfilling years, which resulted in seven All-American Honors, two BIG EAST Championships, several individual awards and finally, becoming a finalist (7th place overall) in the 2012 US Olympic Trials.
My father was born and raised in Antigua & Barbuda which means that I have dual citizenship. At the age of 16, he came to the US by himself to pursue an education and to better his life. My family, my roots and my heart come from that island and I want to give back to the country of my father’s birth. A small country, Antigua & Barbuda can only financially support certain aspects as I prepare for the Olympics, such as travel outside the US.
I currently train in Wildwood, NJ but will be moving to Virginia to train with coach Lauren Biscardi.
I train six days a week, putting in 30-35 hours to prepare for the greatest competition of my life. I hold private track & field clinics to help other talented athletes achieve success and travel around the country giving motivational talks about my track journey, my fabulous faith and how I treated my failures as seeds for success! I am focused, disciplined and determined and possess a strong work ethic, but I am in NEED of your financial support to make it happen.
A major source of my funding is through voluntary contributions from family, my club team – the New York Athletic Club – and friends like you! My love for this sport has never wavered, but finances make competing at this high-level difficult at times. Proper diet, rehab equipment, weight room fees, workout gear, massage therapy, coaching, cross training and travel can all add up, and any assistance you can provide would be very much appreciated. I hope I can count on your generosity and support and I appreciate your kindness and consideration in helping me go after this “once in lifetime dream”.
