Frinton Summer Theatre: update about our 2020 season
With a grant from the government’s Cultural Recovery Fund, Frinton Summer Theatre is able to continue running and planning to re-open. The grant tops up the fantastic contributions of our supporters, which amounted to £10500. It will enable us to fully recover from the devastating effects of adverse weather conditions in 2019 and the lack of income to cover ongoing costs of 2020, as well as loss of fundraising opportunities.
We are now in a position to start the planning work to update the lighting, which will improve the audience experience, reduce energy consumption and thereby enable the installation of air conditioning, as well as improving safety.
The grant also means that we are now able to offer our first ‘socially distanced’ events, our Christmas Cabaret, and bring live theatre and events back to Frinton.
However, as with other arts institutions, fundraising is an essential part of our survival activity and this will continue to be the case. Keeping ticket prices to a generally affordable level provides no financial cushion and every event, every season will continue to need your support. We are extraordinarily grateful for the support and affection from our fans.
Making a donation
We would be extraordinarily grateful if you could consider donating the value of one ticket, on average £20, to our theatre. If you are a UK taxpayer you can also add gift aid to your donation - this will allow us to claim 25p from every £1 you donate from the UK Government.
