WHO WE ARE
We are not a company or a collective but theatre artists who want to tell a great story. Our goals are to produce a profitable show, compensate our production team, satisfy all expenses, and provide an affordable theatrical experience for our community. Your sponsorship is essential to achieving these goals!

A LITTLE HISTORY
This play had its regional premiere in New Orleans with Southern Rep in 2009, but it is our wish to expound on it further. As far as we have seen through production research, the role of Kelly has never been played by an actress of color, despite all three character descriptions are noted simply as "late twenties". The world is not wholly black or white and neither are its stories. This is what we are bringing to the forefront of this production.

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS
New Orleanians and those who love New Orleans across the globe possess a passion for community that sets them apart. When artists choose to create here, armed with the right resources and rooted in purpose, the energy brought forth in bringing people together in ways only live theatre can provide is never less than palpable. An idea is only as strong as those who band together to see it realized, and we want you on our team. Let's create a sensational piece of theatre together!

A young therapist, Kelly, whose husband Craig was killed while on military duty in Iraq, is confronted a year later by his identical twin Peter, who suspects that Craig's death was not accidental. Set in a spare downtown-Manhattan apartment after dark, scenes shift from the confrontation between Peter and Kelly, to Kelly's complicated farewell with her husband Craig. Shinn's creepy, sophisticated drama"”infused with references to 9/11 and the war in Iraq"”explores how contemporary politics and recent history have transformed the lives of these three characters.

"The finest new American play I've seen in a long while...Dying City is a political play and also a psychodrama about what Arthur Miller called the politics of the soul. It's about public conscience and private grief, and real and symbolic catastrophes.""”The New York Observer

"Anyone who doubts that Mr. Shinn is among the most provocative and probing of American playwrights today need only experience the...sophisticated welding of form and content that is Dying City.""”The New York Times
