Hello Friends and Supporters!
People often ask how they might support my work. Simply stated - I could use your help to fund my education.
As most of you know, I’ve been in school for half of forever in the pursuit of becoming a physician. One benefit to this is that I’ve gotten to wear a ton of really cute, thrift-store-inspired first day of school outfits! One downside to this scholastic marathon is that I’ve basically maxed out my lifetime government financial aid.
While my total expected indebtedness upon graduation will be circa $430,000, I actually don’t need all of that right now. About $340,000 I’ve already taken out in loans, so my fundraising efforts are really directed at the $91,600 I’ll need to finish my degree. When I look at those big, scary, numbers standing between me and my dreams it can kinda feel impossible. Then I’m reminded of a quote I recently heard, “Impossible is a big word thrown around by small people”. All things are possible. They just need to be taken step by step. So instead of trying to get the entire $430,000 paid off right now, I’ve taken this thing phase by phase through a series of mini-campaigns.
PHASE 1: Pay for Year 3 (2017/2018). Each semester (tuition balance, fees, and expenses) = $26,600
As of August 14 2018, your generous contribution is a total of $16,550, which brings us to Phase 2! THANK YOU TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND COMMUNITY FOR YOUR SUPPORT through Phase 1!!!! Your contribution served a big role in my ability to successfully complete Year 3 of my journey in healing.
I'm in a precarious position so close to the finish line (9 more months to go), needing to pay off Summer 2018 balance before I can register for Fall 2018. I'm reviving the campaign for Phase 2 in the hopes that my journey will be completed successfully with your help.
PHASE 2: Pay for Year 4 (2018/2019)
Remaining Summer 2018 Balance: $13,000 (which needs to be paid before I can register for fall semester)
The Arithmetic...
Summer 2018 = $13,000
Fall 2018 = $26,000
Spring 2018 = $26,000
Total = $65,000
I’ve committed my life to the study and practice of the healing arts. This is the cost of that commitment. While this financial burden might be too big for me to bear alone, I know the many hands of my community can make this work light.
I want to be the man my dog thinks I am, and the doctor we would all want caring for our loved ones in their times of need. Will you help me become that healer? Thank you in advance for your help.
