George's Medical Treatment Fund

George Dimitriu is courageously battling his 4th recurrence of Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  He and his wife Daniela are extremely challenged to meet their current medical deductibles and prescription expenses, since George is also a diabetic and suffered the loss of both his spleen and gall bladder in the course of previous treatments.  In this fourth course of treatment, he has received yet another combination of Chemotherapy drugs and is suffering hearing loss, which he has been informed, will be complete if he does not stop the chemo.  His health at this point is not strong enough to endure bone marrow treatment.  Therefore, the option left to him is to receive Brentuximab Vedotin, a newly FDA approved antibody drug, effective against CD-30 monoclonal antibodies  specific to classic Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  To expedite the administration of this potentially life-saving treatment, the Dimitriu's must raise $16,000 per dose, as soon as possible.  It is estimated to take a minimum of 4 doses to achieve remission, and possibly up to 8 or more.
George, and then his wife, have had to file for bankruptcy over the years as a result of his recurring cancer expenses and loss of work. George is receiving Disability income, and now has Medicare coverage, which covers a portion of the traditional treatments, which are now making him more ill.  Daniela works for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and must continue to work to support the family, enabling very limited time to be with and care for George. 
Their need is great, and it is urgent.  Any small amount that you can bless them with, is very appreciated.
