Funds to assist Puerto Rico

Tax deductible
Lansing Sister Cities and the City of Lansing reach out to help the people of Puerto Rico.

100% of all funds donated will go to helping the victims of the disaster and will be directed to the National Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce.  They will then match our donations by 200%.

People in Puerto Rico need our help in every aspect of life. Lansing Sister Cities has a mission to reach out to people in need. Help us lend a hand to our sisters and brothers whose lives depend upon the kindness and generosity of people like you.

Just 20 miles from the capital of San Juan, residents  in Naranjito are still marooned after Hurricane Maria destroyed the once-lush landscape more than a week ago, but people are finding ways to help each other.

They have no running water, electricity or reliable communication with the rest of the world, since Maria slammed into Puerto Rico on Sept. 20 as a Category 4 storm with winds of 155 mph and devastated the U.S. commonwealth.

Obtaining basic necessities of water, food and fuel for cars and generators is a daylong mission for most people throughout Puerto Rico.    Hospitals lack electricity, medical supplies and life sustaining services.  Children, seniors and others lack basic sanitation and nutrition, as well as access to education.

Despite all that  is being done, still only 45% have access to drinking water and only 5% have electricity.  50% of the roads are still not passable and there are only 14% of cell towers that work.

Please Donate Now.  Help us help them.
