ASTRID Residential and Outreach Center, Inc.'s mission is to provide emergency, transitional, and/or permanent housing in addition to direct and indirect care services to able-bodied single men and women along with single parents while living in a communal setting.
It’s about making unknown resources known and attainable to those who need it and don’t know how to find it while providing support along the way. Our goal is a plain and simple one and has become our motto: To Connect the Disconnected.
Our vision is to create a strong presence of community and support by becoming a viable resource for alternatives to homelessness, while increasing financial leverage for both the residents and Hampton Roads alike.
The need to create and sustain a strong presence of community and support for the homeless is extremely important to this process. In order to achieve this, we want to partner with you to bring about change and promote self-sufficiency. Whether it's by volunteering your time or donating items such as food, clothing, bus passes, etc. We need your help.
If you don't have the time to spare, consider donating any denomination, even $5 can help feed someone three nutritious meals for one day!
ASTRID has obtained its tax exempt status and is recognized as a 501(3) organization, so your donations, whatever it may be, are tax-deductible.
In order to build a bigger network of ASTRID supporters, we would like to request donations or someone with talent to assist us with purchasing or creating stationery. We need business cards, letterhead, brochures, and envelopes. In addition to the completion of our website.
