My name is Ronnie Horton. I've worked in the restaurant industry for nearly two decades. I have a passion for great food. In the service industry, providing positive experiences to all of my guests is paramount to my growth in the industry and in life.
As a member of the LGBT community, I've witnessed the battle for equal rights. I saw individuals from my community getting involved where they could, however I never quite found my place...until recently. Hearing that a restaurant would refuse to cater events involving those in same sex relationships got me thinking...this is how I can help. This will be contribution to my community.
For years I've wanted to open a restaurant, but I wanted an eatery with a clear vision and a message to impart to its patrons. I've started a campaign to open a restaurant in the heart of Indiana which I'm calling Gay Palace Pizza. We'll cater to anyone and everyone regardless of what they choose to do with their pepperoni. Ideally this place would have the feel of a San Francisco eatery with an inviting atmosphere and locally sourced ingredients. There would be an event space fancy enough to please even the pickiest of Bridezillas be they gay or straight. Of course, it could be utilized for parties and events of any kind.
In order to fulfill this dream, contributions would be required and greatly appreciated. Funds are needed to lease and remodel property, securing the necessary kitchen equipment, and ordering the required supplies.
Gay Palace Pizza would be a restaurant. It would also be a statement. We serve our brothers and sisters: straight, gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgendered, queer, questioning, and those who feel more comfortable without labels. At Gay Palace Pizza we'll all be united by the slice.
