Kaitlyn Reasoner Benefit
Donation protected
Kaitlyn is a very kind hearted, athletic 12 yr old girl with 2 younger siblings. At the beginning of October she was stricken suddenly with extremely severe axonal variant Guillian-Barre syndrome. It began when she was unable to walk 12 hours after playing soccer, the next day she needed a ventilator to breathe and her health quickly declined. She was unable to move due to pain & weakness all over her body. She was flown to Comer's Children's Hospital in Chicago where she had GI/GJ tube for food, 6 rounds of plasmaphoresis to clean her blood, & 38 days in PICU
Kaitlyn was transferred to Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago on November 21st. YAY). She still has trach in her neck, GJ tube for nutrition (25% of nutrition orally) & picc line. She can finally breath on her own and is slowly regaining nerve function which is extremely painful. She will have several months of intense, painful therapy to regain strength and range of motion so she can one day walk again.
As you know, the financial stress that comes with a medical diagnosis and treatment can cause many challenges from missing work, hospital bills, and travel expenses associated with treatment. Costs add up quickly and create monetary challenges for the patient and family.
Any monetary amount would greatly help this family as they struggle with the hardship of the financial burden. Please pass this along, and say a prayer for The Reasoner Family.
On December 6th beginning at 6:00 pm a comedy show and concert benefit is being held at Sunset Lounge in Portage, IN. (5844 US Highway 6). Admission fee is $10.
All proceeds will be going to Kaitlyn Reasoner and her family to cover medical expenses.
