"Where Hospital Meets Home"
The George Mark Children's House is a non-profit organization that serves as a transistional home for terminally ill children. Located in San Leandro, California, the GMCH focuses on maximizing the quality of life and continuity of care for children with illnesses that modern healthcare cannot yet cure, or for those who have chronic medical conditions.
Every year, Amador Valley High School holds a "Mister Amador" event, or a beauty pageant for a group Amador boys chosen to represent our school while fundraising for the George Mark Children's House. Building up to the show, the Mister Amador Committee works for months fundraising for the house and planning this event. Our goal this year is to raise over $40,000 for the House.
