Aid For Friends Homeless Encampment
Tax deductible
On any given night in Idaho, there are approximately 2,000 men, women and children who find themselves with no permanent place to stay. No one should have to wonder what the next night will bring. That is why Aid for Friends is here. It is our annual Homeless Encampment that moves this issue to the forefront.
2014 Aid for Friends Homeless Encampment
Saturday, December 6th to Sunday, December 7th
Caldwell Park, Pocatello, Idaho
10 a.m. to 10 a.m.
What is Aid for Friends?
We are a private, non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter, transitional housing and other supportive services to individuals and families facing homelessness. We offer opportunities, resources, and services to empower people to bring stability into their daily lives.
What is the Homeless Encampment?
On a cold, wintry night, several Idahoans leave the confines of their warm homes to sleep in boxes in a local park. Each of them has gathered pledges for braving the cold and helping those in the seven Southeast Idaho counties. It is the largest of Aid for Friends fundraisers.
Why does homelessness occur?
Homelessness can rarely be linked back to a single cause. A number of factors often combine which induce the situation. Aid for Friends provides immediate help for the problem and backs it with a variety of classes and other services provide a long-term solution.
Aid for Friends cannot provide support without contributions from incredible people like you. While you may not be able to sleep in a cardboard box on that cold December night, you can back those who will be with your donation. It just may help warm up the campers, too!
