On Sunday, May 14, 2017, Amy Shafer Gerrish was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She is currently at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA and she began chemotherapy on the evening of May 17. We have been told that Amy will have a lengthy stay on her unit at BWH - Pat and her mom, Kathy, have been by her side around the clock. Amy's diagnosis and treatment plan was unexpected and has developed very quickly - we are receiving new information from her doctors each day. Please check back often for more information as it becomes available.

GERRISH STRONG will be organized by Pat's sister, Ali. We will provide updates to keep everyone as up to date as possible on Amy's condition, and on the needs of the family. There will definitely be more to come, but we needed to get this up and running as soon as possible because Amy, Pat and Luke need you all now.
The financial impact on their family will be substantial - Amy will be out of work for a long time, and we are unsure of what the family's medical bills will be like. We want to be ready to support them in whatever ways arise.
