Bart Foot Surgery

Bart is a very sweet, young, mixed breed dog with Rottweiler, Beagle, hound, and possibly even Corgi in his ancestry. He is between six and ten months old. Bart is recovering this week from an injury to his rear left foot. Bart received the wound sometime on Friday, April 6, 2018, in Adams County, OH. Bart’s owner claimed that a neighbor shot him. Due to the fear that the neighbor would eventually kill her pet, and to her inability to afford the vet bill for his treatment, Bart's owner surrendered him, along with his sister, to the Humane Society of Adams County. Bart was immediately taken to the Brown County Veterinary Clinic where he was treated and hospitalized over the weekend. The veterinarian said Bart would have to have three toes amputated, but he is expected to recover.

Though in certain pain, Bart has been a model patient. He seems to understand that the humans around him now are trying to help, and has not growled or tried to bite throughout his ordeal. He is a friendly, calm dog, and will be a great companion to a family when he is eventually made available for adoption.

Bart’s medical bills are expected to eventually reach over seven hundred dollars, for exams, amputations, follow-up visits, vaccinations, and eventual sterilization surgery. Donations may be made here on GoFundMe and also by stopping by the shelter during regular business hours or by mailing a check to HSAC, P.O. Box 245, West Union, Ohio 45693.

Bart thanks you!!
