GET JACK TO GUILDFORD

My name is Jack Beedle. I am a student in Hull, currently studying for my BA (HONS) Musical Theatre degree.

I have been offered a place on the MA Musical Theatre course at Guildford School of Acting. That in itself is a massive achievement but getting a place was only the beginning of the hard work. I'm now facing course fees of £15,750 which I have to raise to attend GSA.

Because my course is an MA there aren't many scholarships or grants available for me to apply for. I'm currently going through the process of writing to as many arts funds and people as I possibly can to try and raise this large amount of money but I need more help.

I have set my goal at £25,000 because I also have to find accomodation in Guildford and will have to live for the year that I'm on the course. Getting a job for the duration of the course will be hard because it will be such a hard workload that I don't know if I would be able to cope with that on top. I'm currently working two jobs and am putting as much of my own money, as possible, away to help me with the course fees but I would be very, very grateful if you could make any sort of donation to this cause.

It has been a dream of mine to get into a London drama school for such a long time and I would hate to have to turn down the opportunity of a lifetime. I still can't actually believe that they offered me a place so I will be even more amazed if people actually donate to me. I studied at Kingswood College of Arts and did GCSE's in Performing Arts and Dance, then went on to study a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts at Wyke College coming out with a DDM (Distinction/Distinction/Merit). Then I came to Hull college to study my BA degree because I thought it would be the best thing for me at the time. And it was. I would not have been ready at 17/18 to move to London on my own. I didn't apply for London schools when I was 17/18 to study my BA degree there because I didn't feel ready, but now I'm more ready than ever. I have lived in Hull for 20 years and now I'm ready for something new.
