Please Help Get Max A Nino
Donation protected
This is a fundraising page for our son Max. Max had to have his right leg amputated seven weeks after he was born due to a condition called Amniotic Band Syndrome. The operation went really well and Max even smiled on the way out of the operating theatre. He has been so brave and shown enormous courage. Max is now awaiting his sixth prosthetic limb thanks to the amazing people at Preston Hospital who have looked after him since he was nine months old.
On 1 October last year our incredible son walk down the aisle with our wedding rings on the day we married. Since October though, Max has had some infections in his little leg so he has been using his wheelchair and crutches nearly all the time. Both the wheelchair and the crutches have their limitations which has led to a very difficult few months. This is likely to continue as Max gets older as he can only wear the prosthetic limb for a few hours per day and the rest of the time he relies on his crutches and chair.
A couple of weeks ago however, we were introduced to "the Nino". www.allaccessmobility.co.uk
Max has only used it a couple of time but it is 100 times better than what he has at the moment and will transform his independence, improving the day to day challenges he faces. It is so easy to use and literally turns obstacles into challenges and helps him to get about easily and safely.
Unfortunately at over £7,000 though the Nino robotics is not available on the National Health Service so we need to try to raise the money ourselves to fund it. We have looked at alternative wheelchairs but none of them even come close to the abilities of the Nino which is state of the art and already helping many thousands of people across the world to be more independent. It really is incredible.
We are so very grateful for you taking time to read about Max and his quest and for any support you might be able to give to us in helping achieve our goal.
Thank you so much. Chris & Rachel Lamb xxx
