Fixing Bricks on the Massac Theatre
Donation protected
Built in 1938, the Massac Theatre was a beautiful Art Deco movie theatre and the cultural center in our small town of Metropolis, IL. After 40 years of movies on the screen and live entertainment on its stage, the theatre closed its doors and sat empty for 30 years. When the theatre appeared on the City of Metropolis' demolition list, we formed the Save the Massac group to save our beloved theatre.
After many, many fundraisers, the Save the Massac not-for-profit group now owns the Theatre! And now, we are raising money for our first repair, to fix the bricks damaged by water. We are working bingo, cooking burgers and you name it to raise the money, and you can help!
Please, please donate to the Massac Theatre! Donate because you love old buildings and beautiful architecture. Donate because you love movies and theatre. Donate because you love Superman! Yes, Metropolis is the home of Superman. Help us bring Massac memories back to life!
