Giving Back Garage Sale and Fundraiser
I was inspired by reading Katie Davis' book "Kisses From Katie" and hearing about the incredible work she was doing in Uganda through her non profit, Amazima.

I was inspired by the SheSpeaks Conference I attended in late July when I ran into an incredible ministry called Fashion and Compassion. They employ women from all over the world- Uganda, Ecuador, Burundi, Honduras and even right here in North America. These women are victims of war, extreme poverty, refugees, domestic abuse and so many other horrific tragedies. Fashion and Compassion allows them to sustain themselves making bags, jewelry and beautiful metal and leather work.

I was inspired by these two incredible ministries to DO SOMETHING. I forgot how extremely blessed we are in this country and after sharing my heart with my husband and children...they felt inspired too!

Sometimes we forget how great we truly have it sometimes and it's nice to get those reminders that the world is so much bigger than just us. We need to remember what John says in the scriptures in chapter 3, verse 30, "He must become greater, I must become less."

So I encourage you to look beyond your problems for today and focus on someone else. Look at this as your chance to not just give back but give beyond your own little world and brighten someone else's.
 
I will be hosting a garage sale at my house the weekend of Aug 21 and 22. This Gofundme is for those who aren't able to attend or donate material things but perhaps you could help us help these incredible ministries out with your gift, big or small. The fundraiser ends August 24.

Pray about it and give whatever the Lord lays on your heart. The proceeds will be split 50/50 between each ministry.
