PUPPETS FOR EVERYONE EVERYWHERE!
Big things are happening to make this mission a reality: I've been accepted to Jim Rose's marionette program at the National Puppetry Conference! And the first phase of the Puppet Wagon Project is on track to be complete by this summer!
THE GOAL
Studying marionettes with Jim Rose is a long-anticipated step in my puppet training, and an honor to my grandfather whose own marionettes were inspired by Jim and his master puppeteer parents, Rufus and Margo Rose. I need to raise $1425 for the tuition!
Everything I learn at the O'Neill goes back into my puppetry teaching which is 25% volunteer. With help I can complete the next phase of the Puppet Wagon Project-- a mobile studio of puppet-making materials that can be brought to communities that lack resources, starting with the Connecticut Burn Center summer camp for kids this July. $500 will manifest the first local version of this big dream, with the purchase of a hitch and lumber to renovate a donated mini utility trailer, and basic kid-friendly puppet-making tools.
THE RESULTS
Thanks to your support last year I was able to build, perform and teach puppetry to hundreds of adults and kids, including a new puppetry initiative at Fairfield University that will continue this fall!
THE GRATITUDE
Every size donation helps so much, and gets a snail-mail Thank-Q, and the promise of more puppet shows and participatory community art events. Plus all new rewards this year, including a patrons' reception and commissioned puppet shows!!!
