Team Christina-Beat Lyme!

“Team Christina”   ~   Beat Lyme!

Her home is Roxbury: One of our own

Christina Alecci Adamski is the oldest of five children and attended Roxbury High School from 2004 – 2008.  Christina was very involved in many activities including soccer, lacrosse, concert and marching band and she graduated top 10 in her class. Both Christina and her high school sweetheart, Rich Adamsky, went on to attend Stevens Institute of Technology where Christina graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering.  Following graduation Christina and Rich were married and Christina went on to work for Stryker Orthopedics making specialty instruments for hip and knee surgeries.  This was a dream job for Christina because she loves helping people and she feels her role at Stryker really allows her to make a difference.

Christina needs our help

Unfortunately, due to a devastating case of Lyme disease and possible co infections associated with tick borne diseases, Christina has been debilitated since November 2014. Christina was released from her job in July since, after a long absence on disability, she was unable to offer a return to work date.  She suffers from abdominal pain, back pain and hyper skin sensitivity so severe, it is impossible to have a shirt touch her back.  This disease has caused multiple seizures.  She is unable to walk more than a few steps with assistance.  She was admitted to Cornell Hospital for two months but they were unable to cure her.  Christina, her husband Rich and their dog Logan has had to move from her home in Ringwood, back in with herwonderful family until she is better.  She is doing everything she can within the traditional health care system to get better but this care is falling short.

There is hope

While Christina will continue to work within the “in network” medical community, there are “Lyme literate” medical doctors that have cured many patients with similar symptoms and we believe will lead Christina back to wellness.  The issue is that they are “out of network” and require significant financing.  We can help this ambitious, wonderful Roxbury graduate get back to wellness with modest efforts on our part. Please donate what you can, and send this to others! With questions about the situation or what you can do to help, please email Sheila Mathis at: [email redacted]. Thank you!
