Hello my name is Govinda Tselios. I grew up in the Boston area in a single parent home as the youngest of five. After my father passed away, my mother worked hard to take care of us. But with excess work and the stresses of taking care of five children, she became sick. I stopped going to school so that I could work to support my family. All of our income went into keeping up with the home and taking care of our mother, and eventually I too began to lose my health – I could not wake up in the morning without pain. But I was only in my 20s!  I discovered Oom Yung Doe martial arts, and have been training for almost a year but after only 4 months of training, I was pain free.

I want to open up an Oom Yung Doe school and help others gain the benefits that I have gained.

Traditional martial arts for the mind, body and spirit Passed down from Grandmaster to Grandmaster for over 1500 years, Oom Yung Doe is 8 complete martial arts including Kong Su/Tae Kwon Do, Aikido/Hapkido, Udo/Jujitsu, Samurai Sword, Tai Chi Chung, Bagua Chung, Kung Fu, Ship Pal Gae (18 Weapons). By practicing eight martial arts, you can quickly unite your mind, body and spirit, and balance your condition regardless of your age or current health,  That is what makes Oom Yung Doe so unique; every person that trains achieves a stronger, healthier condition overall but also gains specific benefits according to their physical and mental needs.

Oom Yung Doe has been in the U.S. & Boston for 45+ years with schools in Massachusetts, Florida, Pennsylvania,  Washington  and has been in the Boston area for over 35 years.  Since 2016 the schools have been awarded Best Martial Arts School in Boston by Boston AList, presented by WGBH. The schools have recently demonstrated at a Red Sox game, a Celtics game, a Providence Bruins game, at Gillette stadium, at City Hall and in Chinatown.  I was even able to participate in the demonstrations in Chinatown and at Gillette stadium, which were amazing experiences.

Due to the incredible mental and physical benefits of OYD, the schools have also recently partnered with the W Hotel, Boston Scientific, Paratek Pharmaceuticals, Instream Media, Harvard University, Tufts University, Lesley University and Wellesley University, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts, The Boys and Girls Club, The Boston Rescue Mission, as well as numerous high schools, middle schools and elementary schools.   Because of the existing schools and their reputation in Boston, I will have access to a strong team to support my efforts in opening a school.

What Oom Yung Doe has done for me During my training I have received many benefits, from being physically healthy and fit to being strong mentally in any stressful situation. When I first started training I was overweight, had knee problems and suffered with lower and upper back problems.

The instructor that signed me up was very attentive, the first question he asked was, "Do you have any injuries or body problems that I should know about?" I thought to myself, "Wow, that is interesting. He wants to know this so that he can help me with these problems." To me it showed that he really cared about my development and my well-being. As I started to train, I noticed that I couldn’t quite do all of the movements with my some of my ailments. So, my instructor would give me slight adjustments to compensate for my injuries. This was great because with those adjustments I didn't feel that pain and my problem areas actually started to heal and get stronger. After a month of training and practicing I started to see so many differences with my body and with my level of energy. My knee problems were slowly going away and they were getting stronger. I had a lower back problem and shoulder problem, both of which started to get better also. Before training I would always get tired, feeling like I would never get a good night sleep, since training I can sleep better and I have energy throughout the entire day.  During my training I had a lot of questions about forms and even the benefits behind them and there was always someone there to answer my questions. Oom Yung Doe has a line of instructor from 1st degree to 9th degree with proven knowledge and experience to help support the students with the movements and any questions.

Help me open a school so that I can help others   By training in Oom Yung Doe, I have been much more capable of handling challenges in my life. I would be honored to share this with as many people as I can. My goal is to raise enough money to pay for the opening expenses of a new location in the Boston area.

If you contribute $125, you will get the chance to come to the new location or choose any of the other Boston area locations, and train for a month. You’ll also get  three private lessons, a school uniform, and special topic herbal training formulas to accelerate your development.   With your help, we can open a new location, and provide more people the opportunity to regain their health, better their lives, and achieve their goals, as I am doing.
