Grace Medina Medical care

Grace is 18 and a freshman at ISU.  While on winter break Grace was hit by a car while crossing a street at 22nd and Wentworth in Chicago.  As a result, Grace suffered a traumatic brain injury and was rushed to the Hospital where she remains in ICU.  She was in a medically induced coma from Jan 5th through Jan 20th.  During that time part of Grace's skull was removed to allow time for the swelling in her brain to go down.
During those two weeks we did not know what Grace's prognosis was.  The doctors kept telling Grace's mom that everyone is different.  Every brain injury is different.
