Hey! I’m Tommy, and I’m Grappling with Disability. One of my conditions (Hypermobile type Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) causes advanced degeneration of my spinal column, at double the average rate. I have varying degrees of spondylosis (bulging discs) and stenosis (narrowing nerve channels) in my entire spine, with the most severe degeneration at C1, T1, and L1, with bone spurs additionally at those levels. These cause me immense pain, neuropathy, numbness, strength loss, and more, and these impact me more severely than any of my other myriad conditions. 

The only feasible treatment that exists is stem cell injections, which have a truly miraculous effect and could very reasonably add years to my expected lifespan, as well as greatly improve my quality of life and ability to continue grappling for many years.

The only problem is that no insurance covers these treatments, and my doctor offers them… at $7,000 per injection. I’m trying to raise as much as I can toward (ideally) 3 injections. Any amount is deeply appreciated, as I am disabled with no income, and while I am fortunate enough that my family can provide a home for my son and I, there’s no way we could afford even one injection, especially with the skyrocketing cost of health insurance expected next year (my monthly premiums are set to increase 10x.)
