What is Great Shepherd Outreach?
Great Shepherd Outreach is a California Based Non– Profit (501( c) 3) Organization serving men, women, and families affected by unemployment, displacement, domestic violence, homelessness, low income, and poverty. Since 1992, we have used our programs, services and resources to improve the lives of families and individuals throughout the Los Angeles County, especially South Los Angeles & East Los Angeles.
Our aim is:
To strengthen and support undeserved individuals, their families and the community by providing housing (Men Of Valor), support services, food, clothes, skills building through education, counseling and support, and employment opportunities

Our main outreach activities at this time are:
The Men of Valor Program
The Community Food Distribution Program
Back To School Outreach (South Park)
"You Are Loved" Crusade
The Men of Valor Program is a transitional program for young men between the ages of 18 - 25 years old who may be experiencing difficulty transitioning into manhood. In this program, we provide temporary housing and a personalized transition plans which include education and leads participants to employment. The goal of this program is to help young men to become successful, law abiding, citizens equipped with faith, education, and employment.
The Community Food Distribution Program is an outreach program designed to help feed needy families. Each week on Mondays and Thursdays, we visit local food banks and load up a truck with fruits, vegetables, can goods, cereal, and so much more. Then we distribute the food to local churches and neighborhoods in the Los Angeles County.
Back To School Outreach (South Park) is a program designed specifically for children where we provide backpacks and school supplies. In the past, we've also given clothes and new sneakers as a result of generous donations from supporters.
"You Are Loved" Crusade is our 3-day event held every August (starting the last Wednesday of August) where we combine our outreach efforts with supportive ministies and we remind members of a pre-selected community that they are loved. We provide hot meals nightly. We host daytime seminars and evening worship services that parallel with our You Are Loved" Theme.
