Triple Tree Farm Fundraiser!

This is a story of love and growth. We need your help to continue to grow and to serve our community by doing what we love to do.

Triple Tree Farm started as two separate families with backyard apartment gardens and dreams of sustainability and community. Over the last 3 years those dreams have quickly been becoming a reality.

Our background; the short of the long:
Two women, Grace Yoder and   meet. They realize that all of their aspirations and values are aligned. They introduce their partners and children. They all quickly become best friends and they realize that their two families together are a powerful force. All members share a fierce love for the earth and their community. One of their main passions is food: growing it, eating it, providing it.

In 2011 they decided that they were going to share a booth at the 2012 Downtown Ypsilanti Farmers Market and sell the produce and microgreens they grew on their two urban farms: Polliwog Farm and Walnut Grove Urban Farm.

In late 2012 they realized that did better together- cooperatively working to transition into farming. Their aim is to ensure their family and community's access to safe and ethical food. They have since merged their efforts into one and formed "Triple Tree Farm". They have been successful and the business has grown- providing produce to multiple restaurants and grocers in Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor.

This year they are expanding. They now work on a 1.5 acre parcel and sell produce at both Ypsilanti Farmer's markets and Cobblestone Farm Market.

That brings us up to the present!

What We Need:

In the late summer of 2012 we were each chosen receive a loan that we could buy hoop houses with 0% interest. The loan committee, however, did not approve the sites where we wanted to place the hoops at that time. We were told that once we found a suitable site we could pick up where we left off.

In Early 2013 we found the solution to all of our site problems and were graced with the opportunity to take over a fully functioning farm including a hoop. We have been told that we can purchase the hoop and all of the equipment with the aforementioned loan, but we have had to wait for the loan application cycle to open up again.

For the last several months we've been working very hard on the farm knowing that funds would be coming our way shortly. Unfortunately, the funding has continually gotten delayed and we are now down to the wire.

Because of the delay we need to raise a minimum of $3,692 by the end of June to secure our ownership of the farm and all of the hard work and money we've already invested in it.

If, tragically, the loan program falls through, we need the additional funding in the amount of $4,708 by October 1st to fulfill our agreement to purchase the farm.

What will happen with your money if loan funding does go through by October:

We have a lot of investments to make, so your gracious donations to our cause will not be wasted. We need to buy a van that can haul all of our produce and children. Each year we will need to purchase seeds, seedlings, compost, maintain or replace our hoop, tools and equipment.

Also, we have a bigger picture to look at. It is our goal within 3 years to move the entire farm to a parcel of land that we're in the process of buying, instead of leasing the land that the farm is currently on.

Ultimately you can trust and know that your money will, in one way or another, be part of the reason for the success of our farm. You will know that you not only helped our families but are helping to feed our community!
