Help Gus help a GR epileptic student

Donation protected
Gus needs service training to help a local epileptic college student.
We need your help and so does a wonderful member of our community. We are raising funds right now to help a college student who has epilepsy he needs a service dog to help him with his daily routine from home life to school and work. When he has aa seizure we need to ake sure that Gus is there to help him to ensure that he does not injury himself when there is no one around to help him. He had a dog in the past but his dog passed away so he reached out to us to see if we had a dog that would be up to this challenge and that dog is Gus.

This ws Gus's Life before we saved him from the shelter and now he has a chance to save someone else and that would be Josh. He was always destined for greatness we all knew it and here he is being great as always. He has touched all the lives he has been a part of since coming out of the shelter and I am sure he touched all the lives he came in contact with in the shelter as well.

Gus is a wonerful guy he is about 2 years old and was rescued from the shelter where his life was in jeopardy as well.  He was there for almost six months before we came along to save the pretty boy. He is a perfect dog for Josh because he is great in any situation from liking all animals and all people. He does great under stress. So he is the perfect dog.

Service training is very time intensive and cost a lot of money in order to get him trained to do the things that Josh will need him to do including laying on top of him when he has a seizure to ensure he is safe and does not hurt himself until the seuizure is over. Gus and Keiffers Rescue have a great trainer from A Well Balanced Dog named West Todd who has experience with training our dogs here at the rescue but also training therapy and serivce dogs. The whole training process will take about 6 months. Gus will spend some time one on one with West at his home and training center 24 hours a day for a period of time. Then once that is done he will spend another 3 months at Josh's home with Gus to get Gus used to his new home and also helping Josh with the commands and training that he was taught by West. So it will take some time but we will get Josh what he needs to help him everyday and lead a normal life with all that he does. .Gus will become his new family member and helper.  Josh has meet Gus and is so very excited to have him in his home he is such a great dog and we feel that it is a perfect match with all of their personalities.

We feel that it is our duty to help others that are in need whether it be a dog from a shelter that ay get put down or a community member that needs help from the dogs that we save. The training would normally run up to $3,000 however West is helping us out by giving us the training at HALF the price so we have to come up with $1,500 to get Gus the training he needs and to get Josh the helper that he needs to go about his daily life. We are dedicated to this Community and we know that you are too so please find it in your heart to help this college student out. We have all been there and know the struggles of being a college student without having any challenges so imagine what Josh must go through on a normal day. We also know how are money can be when you are a college student just to make ends meet with housing and food amoung many other things. So to have to come up with all this money to train a dog to help you with your daily life would be asking a lot. So we need your help again to help this guy out.

Please find it in your hearts to help him and donate today. All donations made are tax deductible to the fullest extent alllowed by Federal Law as we are a 501C3 organization and our Tax ID number is 46-3275052 to be able to write the donations off for tax purposes.

Thanks for your support West Michigan and beyond we really appreciate all that you do to help support Keiffers Rescue Center and our mission to help the dogs and people of our wonderful community in any way that we can. Now lets raise some money for Gus and Josh.
