Operation Great Greens
Donation protected
Thanks to the leadership of Western Equipment and TORO, we now have a more realistic way to help our friends at the American Lake Veterans Golf Course.
Through Western Equipment and TORO, a GR TriFlex 3320 mower has been rebuilt and is available once we raise $12,000 in donations.
This significantly improves our odds for success compared to when we were trying to raise $32,000 for a brand new mower.
American Lake Veterans Golf Course, located in Lakewood, Wash., is the only golf course in America designed and operated for the sole purpose of rehabilitating wounded and disabled veterans. With extremely limited funding, a large group of passionate volunteers care for and maintain the golf course, all for the benefit of veterans and specifically the wounded warriors receiving care at the American Lake
Due to limited funding the vast majority of their equipment is very old and in poor condition. In the last year they have sustained severe damage to a number of their greens due to equipment failure.
With the understanding that our Veterans and wounded warriors deserve a better experience, the Western Washington Golf Course Superintendents Association (WWGCSA) has undertaken a fund raising campaign to purchase this mower, which will virtually eliminate the possibility of any further catastrophic leaks and provide a putting service that would be the envy of any championship golf course. It’s the very least we can do to help our returning service members heal and get back on the road to recovery. For more information, visit the WWGCSA’s website at: wwgcsa.org.
