Linda Needs Water
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Linda. I live in a 112 year old house that needs a new water line and a repair to the sewer line. I have had no water since October 28, 2014, when I found the basement in 3-5 inches of water. It appears that the plumbing from almost 100-years ago, galvanized pipes, is rotten and has a huge hole in it. So, I need a new water line from the road because of the rusty condition he found in some more of the water line.
A week into no water, the plumber notified me someone had cut my sewer line in the past, so that sewer water flows under my house. No, it does not stink. Only water can escape from the sewer. That should stink, but does not for some reason.
The plumber told me it would be $3500 for the water line. I almost fainted as he and the other plumber reached out to catch me. It was a trauma to me. I live on $730 dollars each month from social security and disability. Some have suggested I should start saving money. The next day, he said he could do it for $1800. Then, when he found the cut sewer line, he said that would be $500, for a total of $2300. I may need a new hot water heater, not sure.
The physical and mental strain has led me to this site. I am a senior citizen and have a 100% disability. I was 61 years old in that picture and did not mean to put that picture up. I am 68 now. Oh well. There is no one forthcoming with any help, and I have asked.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
