HackLife; Hackathons Across America
Donation protected
Hi.
I love Hackathons.
I'm taking next semester off, writing a blog, and pimping out my prius.
I'm gonna sleep in it.
I'll buy curtains for it.
I'm gonna drive around the USA and maybe parts of Canada and Mexico looking for a Hackathon every weekend.
I'm gonna need roughly $5,000 for supplies, food, showers, and gas.
What's Hotel Prius?

Where exactly is money going to?
I made a GoogleDoc with estimated expenses and my reasons for each one. You can see it here. Gas and Food are the two largest expenses. I'm trying to find ways to cut down on my food bill (without eating at McDonalds every meal), let me know how I can!
How can you stay updated with my journey?
I'm going to have a blog (or a vlog... which do ya'll want?) that I'll update a couple times a week to tell stories of each Hackathon and other adventures I encounter on the road. I'll post episodes to http://www.hacklife.pw and you can follow me on http://www.facebook.com/HackLifePrius
Why Hackathons?
Hackathons are like a pool of genius. Hundreds of college students, all eager to learn, share a great hunger for their idea. We spend 24 to 48 hours in the same room, working as fast and as hard as we can. We don't do this for the judges. We do this for us.
What's my route?
I've been emailing several hackathons, and though the dates aren't set 100% yet, they are somewhat close. You can see it here. Totals 15,014 miles, and estimates $1,050 for gas.
