The Links, Incorporated is a women’s organization founded in 1946 in Philadelphia, PA and our Chapter, Harbor Area (CA) Chapter was founded in 1966. The organization’s core focus relates to community service that is reflected in each member’s required, minimum, annual 48 service hours. The Arts, Services to Youth, National Trends, International Trends, and Health and Human Services are the focus of these women.
Harbor Area (CA) Chapter is fund-raising to provide scholarships to worthy college-bound, high school students from the Compton, Carson and Long Beach schools in Southern California. The students are chosen from submitted applications based a minimum 3.0 grade point average, extra-curricular activities and verifiable community service hours.
The goal of this chapter is to raise $5,000.00 to enable us to give scholarships to students graduating in June of 2015. Those students awarded the scholarships must verify enrollment in the college or university of their choice in order to receive the awards. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
