Isaiah House Happy Spaces Project

Isaiah House , a shelter and food pantry in East Orange, has seven common spaces that are shared and used by its residents, including moms and babies, families, young adults and those living with HIV/AIDS . They are sad, depressing spaces that are not usable, uplifting or inspirational in any way.

The objective of the Happy Spaces Project is to 1) raise funds and secure sponsorships to fund the room redesigns and 2) recruit local interior designers/architects, assign them a space and provide them with a budget, so that they can help liven up these spaces with new furniture, paint, and accessories.  Designers who are interested in adopting a space, please visit isaiahhouse.org/happy-spaces for more information.

We aim to complete the spaces by the first week of June and to have a "reveal" party that will include Isaiah House residents, members of the press, the designers involved and the Happy Spaces Gold and Platinum Sponsors. Anyone is able and invited to donate to the project design fund, but premier sponsors will receive special benefits and media opportunities in recognition of their support.

4/30 - Funding complete and budgets assigned
5/1 - 5/30 - Room renovations
6/1 - Rooms complete
6/9 - Reveal party at Isaiah House for the press, designers, Gold/Platinum sponsors and the Isaiah House residents. 

All donations are 100% tax deductible. Isaiah House maintains 5013C status.
